Smruta Shanbhag

Ms Smruta Shanbhag, known as Ruth, is a highly experienced consultant gynaecologist and gynaecological oncology surgeon offering private care at HCA The Harborne Hospital, Birmingham, alongside her NHS practice at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. She specialises in laparoscopic and robotic surgery for benign and malignant gynaecological conditions, including menstrual abnormalities, pelvic masses, and gynaecological cancers.

After graduating from Goa University in 1995, Ms Shanbhag completed postgraduate training in gynaecology and subspecialist training in gynaecological oncology at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough. She served as a consultant in Glasgow for nine years before relocating to the West Midlands, where she remains the only private consultant offering gynaecological oncology services in Coventry and Warwickshire.

Ms Shanbhag provides expert care in minimally invasive procedures for conditions such as heavy periods, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and complex gynaecological cancers.
