Mr Jonathan Richardson is an experienced consultant colorectal and general surgeon offering private care at The Priory Hospital and HCA The Harborne Hospital, both in Birmingham, as well as an NHS practice at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (University Hospitals Birmingham). A graduate of the University of Birmingham Medical School, he qualified with honours in surgery in 2005 and completed extensive surgical training before being appointed as a consultant in 2017.

A Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and a member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland and the British Hernia Society, Mr Richardson has a strong reputation for his expertise in hernia surgery. He specialises in managing simple and complex hernias, including inguinal, femoral, abdominal wall, and incisional hernias, and is a fully trained laparoscopic surgeon offering minimally invasive techniques to enhance recovery and patient outcomes.

In addition to hernia care, he has extensive experience managing colorectal conditions, including haemorrhoids, using advanced techniques such as HALO (haemorrhoidal artery ligation operation), banding, and haemorrhoidectomy. He is also highly proficient in endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy.
