Mr Ugochukwu Ihedioha studied medicine at the University of Calabar, Nigeria, from 1993 to 1999. He completed his basic surgical training in Glasgow from 2002 to 2004. His research, conducted in Glasgow and Leicester, focused on factors influencing the implementation of an enhanced recovery programme in colorectal surgery, for which he was awarded a Doctorate in Medicine. He completed his higher specialist training in the East Midlands in August 2014.
Mr Ihedioha received specialist training in pelvic floor surgery during a fellowship at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London from October 2014 to March 2015. He was appointed Consultant Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgeon at Northampton General Hospital, where he supports the laparoscopic colorectal cancer service and enhanced recovery after surgery for patients in Northamptonshire.
