Ross Hall Hospital
Ross Hall Hospital is Scotland's largest private hospital, located on Crookston Road in Glasgow's south side. Part of Circle Health Group, the UK's largest independent healthcare provider, the hospital has been serving the West of Scotland and further afield since 1983. It is a 15-minute taxi drive from both Glasgow city centre and Glasgow Airport.
Over 330 consultants practise at Ross Hall Hospital, supported by caring and professional medical staff including 24-hour Resident Medical Officers. Consultants undertake a wide range of procedures, from routine investigations to complex surgery, within a friendly, safe and comfortable environment.
The hospital's facilities are extensive. Eight operating theatres are in operation, four with a laminar flow ultra-clean air system, alongside a comprehensive diagnostic imaging department offering X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI and mammography. Ross Hall is the only private hospital in Glasgow with a level three, five-bed intensive care unit and 24/7 intensivist cover, enabling it to carry out complex cardiac and bowel surgery. A fully equipped digital cardiac catheterisation laboratory provides interventional cardiology procedures including electrophysiology, ablation of atrial fibrillation, pacemaker implantation and stent insertion.
The hospital's Cancer Centre holds the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark and includes an 11-bed day chemotherapy unit. Eye Care Scotland, the dedicated ophthalmic suite, is home to over 12 consultant ophthalmologists covering more than 10 sub-specialties, with a full laser suite offering laser eye surgery, lens replacement surgery and implantable contact lenses. A Specialist Skin Centre provides a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment pathway, from UV light therapy for common skin conditions through to procedures for skin cancer.
Ross Hall is the only private hospital in Scotland to offer robotic surgery using the Da Vinci Surgical System, enabling robotic procedures across colorectal, general and urological surgery. Its Respiratory Laboratory is the only one of its kind available privately in Scotland. The hospital is also the only private hospital in Scotland able to perform surgical procedures on children from the age of three, with paediatric specialties including ENT, cardiology, allergy, urology, orthopaedics and general surgery. All patient bedrooms offer en-suite facilities, TV and Wi-Fi, and the hospital has an on-site pharmacy and pathology department with blood testing facilities.
Ross Hall Hospital is regulated and inspected by Healthcare Improvement Scotland. Patient satisfaction scores reflect consistently high standards, with 98.1% of patients rating their overall experience as good or very good.
