Mr Yousri Afifi is a Consultant Gynaecologist providing private care at The Priory Hospital (Birmingham), The Harborne Hospital (Birmingham) and Spire Parkway Hospital (Solihull). He specialises in advanced laparoscopic and reproductive surgery, offering expert assessment and treatment for endometriosis, fibroids, infertility and recurrent miscarriage. 

He treats a wide range of problems that can affect fertility, pelvic health and quality of life. These include endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, pelvic pain, infertility and recurrent miscarriage. He also supports women with complex reproductive problems and often sees patients referred for specialist care or second opinions. 

His clinical practice includes advanced laparoscopic keyhole surgery for many gynaecological conditions. This includes laparoscopic hysterectomy, myomectomy, ovarian cystectomy, adhesiolysis and surgery for endometriosis. He also performs reproductive surgery to help women conceive, including reversal of sterilisation, uterine and ovarian surgery, and transabdominal cerclage to help prevent miscarriage and preterm birth. Care is planned with radiology, anaesthesia and specialist nurses so that investigations and treatment are joined up and evidence based. 

Mr Afifi completed a PhD at the University of Birmingham and undertook specialist training in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery. He is Lead Consultant for reproductive surgery at Birmingham Women’s Hospital and has developed particular expertise in complex laparoscopic procedures. He is frequently referred complex cases involving endometriosis, fertility and gynaecological reconstruction. 

Alongside his clinical work, he is actively involved in teaching, research and surgical training. He is Chair of Advanced Training in the West Midlands School and one of a small number of nationally approved trainers for advanced laparoscopic surgery. He has authored book chapters and scientific papers and is regularly invited to speak at national and international meetings. He also directs international hands-on surgical training courses.
