Mr. Talvinder Singh, is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust. In April 2022, his NHS practice transitioned to the new Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) upon its completion.
Graduating from the University of the West Indies, Mr Singh did his Basic Surgical Training at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust. His passion for Upper Limb Surgery flourished during his tenure as a Hand Research Registrar at University Hospital Birmingham, where he garnered recognition for his widely accredited research papers in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery.
His training continued within the Southwest London Region. He completed his Fellowship Exams during his fourth year of training, focusing thereafter on Upper Limb Surgery. He won the Medartis Hand Travelling Fellowship to Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, India, honing his microsurgical skills under the mentorship of Dr. Rajasabapathy.
Continuing his pursuit of excellence, Mr Singh undertook a General Trauma Fellowship at Brighton Major Trauma Centre, followed by two AOA Upper Limb and Microvascular Surgery Fellowships in Brisbane, Australia, under the guidance of well-known experts Professor Mark Ross and Dr. Chris Blenkin. In 2017, he achieved the European Diploma in Hand Surgery, further solidifying his expertise in the field.
Throughout his 20-year career in Orthopaedics, Mr Singh has consistently committed to training the next generation of surgeons, mentoring National Trauma and Orthopaedics Specialist Trainees, supervising Foundation Trainees, and lecturing medical students from Aston Medical School and the University of Birmingham.
Beyond his clinical duties, Mr Singh serves as a medical consultant for the charitable organisation United Sikhs, providing medical aid on reconnaissance missions in Malaysia and Indonesia.
