Mr Sreekumar Sundara Rajan is a Consultant Breast and Oncoplastic Surgeon practicing at The Harborne Hospital (Birmingham) and Spire Parkway Hospital (Solihull). Mr Sundara Rajan sees patients with a wide range of breast conditions, including breast lumps needing triple assessment (the gold standard diagnostic pathway used to investigate breast symptoms), breast cancer, breast pain, and other benign breast problems. He also consults with patients considering aesthetic surgery, such as breast enlargement, reduction, or a breast uplift. He treats both women and men; specialising in the correction of male breast enlargement (Gynaecomastia).
His surgical work covers both breast cancer and aesthetic procedures. For patients with breast cancer, Mr Sundara Rajan uses oncoplastic techniques, which combine cancer surgery and plastic surgery methods. This allows him to offer breast-conserving options such as partial breast reconstruction and therapeutic mammaplasty. Where a full mastectomy is needed, Mr Sundara Rajan carries out breast reconstruction using implants and his aesthetic surgery includes breast augmentation, reduction, and breast uplift. He works closely with radiology, pathology, and specialist nursing teams to keep care joined throughout.
Mr Sundara Rajan graduated with his primary medical degree (MBBS) from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India, in 2004. He also holds an MSc and an MD for his research into male breast cancer from the University of Leeds. A member of the Cochrane Group, Mr. Rajan remains committed to evidence-based medicine and ongoing research in the field of breast surgery.. He completed higher surgical training in the North West Deanery from 2013 to 2019, gaining his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS). He then completed a National TIG Oncoplastic Fellowship at Nottingham University Hospital from 2019 to 2020.
