Dr Robert Stevenson is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist with specialist expertise in uro-oncology and lung cancer. He practises within the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust and also sees private patients at The Priory Hospital, The Harborne Hospital, and GenesisCare Birmingham.

Dr Stevenson graduated from Leicester-Warwick Medical School in 2005, achieving his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2008 and his Fellowship in Clinical Oncology (FRCR) in 2013. He also holds a Master of Science (MSc) from the Institute of Psychiatry, University of London, a Diploma in Oncology from the University of Birmingham, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) from the Royal College of Physicians.

After completing his oncology training in the West Midlands, Dr Stevenson was appointed as a Consultant at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham in 2014. Since then, he has played a key role in developing and advancing radiotherapy services, including establishing stereotactic radiotherapy for early-stage lung cancer and introducing concurrent radiotherapy for stage 3 disease.

His clinical work covers prostate, kidney, bladder, and testicular cancers, offering a full range of treatments including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, hormone therapy, and advanced radiotherapy techniques. Dr Stevenson’s goal is to provide personalised, evidence-based cancer care that balances effectiveness with quality of life.

An accredited trainer and educational supervisor with the General Medical Council (GMC), Dr Stevenson also lectures on the Oncology MSc programme at the University of Birmingham. He has served as Principal Investigator for several national clinical trials and has published research in a number of leading medical journals, contributing to ongoing progress in cancer treatment.
