Lymphoma and blood cancer care

If you are worried about a possible blood cancer, Dr Kaudlay can help you get clear answers. Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system, part of your body's defence against infection. He treats both main types, Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Other blood cancers he treats include multiple myeloma, a cancer of plasma cells in the bone marrow. He also treats chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), an often slow-growing cancer of white blood cells. To reach a diagnosis, you may need blood tests, scans and a bone marrow test. He plans your care with scan, laboratory and nursing specialists, from first tests through cancer treatment and follow-up. He will explain your options clearly, including the benefits and risks.

General haematology

Many patients see Dr Kaudlay about blood problems that are not cancer. He treats anaemia, a shortage of healthy red blood cells that can leave you tired or breathless. He also helps with easy bruising or bleeding, blood clotting disorders and other red blood cell conditions. If you need a closer look, he may suggest a bone marrow test (biopsy). A small sample is taken from the back of the hip bone using local anaesthetic. As a private haematologist, he offers face-to-face and video appointments.

Experience and training

Dr Kaudlay qualified in medicine in India in 1996 and completed his haematology training in Leeds. He leads clinical trials of new medicines, which keeps him close to the latest treatments. His research has been recognised by the American Society of Hematology. He is an honorary associate professor at the University of Birmingham, where he teaches medical students and doctors in training. He has won an award for his teaching.

Dr Kaudlay speaks both Hindi and English, and sees both self-pay and insured patients.

Lady on reception was kind and helpfull. Lovely waiting area and all the dtaff seemed happy with laughter going on. Thet seemed to know the most of the patients. The Doctor was informative as tobthe possible reasons for my bruising. Gave me positive advice snd wanted blod samples. The samples were taken by a very competant nurse. No problems with after bleeding thankfully. A really good experience. Thank you everyone.
