Mr Mohan Kumar is a Consultant Gynaecologist providing private care at HCA Harborne Hospital (Birmingham), Spire Little Aston Hospital (Sutton Coldfield), and Spire Parkway Hospital (Solihull). He specialises in advanced laparoscopic surgery and complex gynaecological procedures, with a particular focus on endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, fibroids, and ovarian cysts. 

Mr Kumar diagnoses and treats a wide range of gynaecological conditions, including endometriosis at all stages of severity, chronic pelvic pain, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, menstrual disorders, prolapse, and gynaecological cancer. He also sees patients with infertility and menopausal symptoms and offers specialist assessment for those who have not responded to previous treatment or are seeking a second opinion. 

His surgical practice includes advanced laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic excision of endometriosis, and laparoscopic management of fibroids and ovarian cysts. He also performs operative hysteroscopy for uterine polyps, submucous fibroids, uterine septum, and endometrial ablation. Minimally invasive keyhole techniques are used throughout, and most laparoscopic hysterectomy patients are discharged within 24 hours. Care is planned with radiology, anaesthesia and specialist nursing teams to keep investigations and treatment joined up and evidence based. 

Mr Kumar qualified in medicine (MBBS) from Mysore University, India in 1998 and completed specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology in the West Midlands in 2011, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG). He completed advanced laparoscopic training at specialist centres in the UK and internationally and holds the position of Lead for Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Endometriosis at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, where he also established a dedicated pelvic pain and endometriosis clinic. His practice at Spire Little Aston Hospital forms part of a BSGE Accredited Endometriosis Centre, recognised by the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy for delivering high-quality care to patients with complex endometriosis. 

Mr Kumar is an accredited trainer for advanced laparoscopic surgery and operative hysteroscopy in the UK and Europe. He maintains an active research interest in the management of pelvic pain, endometriosis, and infertility, and regularly audits his clinical outcomes to ensure the highest standards of care. He is a member of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy, the British Fertility Society, and the British Medical Association. 

Mr Kumar is known for his clear, honest communication and his ability to put patients at ease when discussing complex or sensitive conditions. He takes time to explain diagnoses and treatment options thoroughly, ensuring each patient understands their choices and feels confident in the care they receive.
