  What a guy! I was stuck with a stent in my kidney from a blocked kidney due to a large kidney stone. It’s was agony and the nhs waiting list for surgery was over 9 months. I saw Mr Darrad and instantly I knew I was with the best urologist for the job. He was so reassuring and professional.   What can I say about this wonderful man. I was recommended to see Mr Darrad by my doctor friends regarding my kidney stones (which I have had over 6 failed / partially treated procedures in the last 5 years by other urologist). I had two large stones in either kidney. Mr Darrad was so professional and polite. He took me through everything and his secretary was also great. I had surgery for both kidney and am now totally free of any pain. The best thing is that my CT scan has shown I have no stones left whatsoever!!   Such a great experience after feeling completely lost in the nhs. Mr Darrad took time to explain my scans, he even spoke to my nhs team to establish what had happened before.   Underwent a PCNL procedure in Spire hospital. Surgery was a complete success. I was so scared as some of the internet searches about the possible issues are scary!   Best kidney stone doctor around. After 10 years of kidney stones I booked on to see Mr Darrad and he investigated me with urine and blood tests. He found out I had a problem with my parathyroid causing the stones. I have now had surgery of my neck to fix that and I a recent CT scan has shown I have no stones. I couldn’t be happier.   I had a brilliant stress free journey and I’m overwhelmed with the results. I had a stent fitted in the nhs for a stone blocking my kidney. It was the worst pain I have ever had. I kept getting infections and was being told there is no certainty as to when I would get the stent and my stone removed. I decided to go to see Mr Darrad privately. He was amazing with such a nice bed side manner. He explained the risks and benefits of the surgery and got me in to surgery within 2 weeks. I had a scan a few weeks later and the stone has completely gone and been treated. I feel great and it’s all thanks to him and his team. I was told I would have to wait 9 months for this surgery in the nhs - best decision I have made in ages. Thank you for all you do Mr Darrad

  Can’t thank Mr Darrad enough helping me in my time of need. I was stuck with a catheter and in horrible pain. He operated on my prostate and I am delighted with the outcome. He has a very comforting demeanour and his bedside manner is second to none. Would highly recommend
