Miss Lynne Robinson is a Consultant Gynaecologist at Birmingham Women’s Hospital (BWH), where she leads both the Fertility Centre and the Menopause and Reproductive Endocrine Service. She also practises privately at The Priory Hospital, Edgbaston.
Miss Robinson graduated from Edinburgh University Medical School in 1996, earned an MD in Reproductive Medicine in 2003, and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) in 2019.
She is a recognised fertility specialist, overseeing one of the largest fertility units in the West Midlands, which includes the UK’s second-largest Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) clinic. Her expertise includes subfertility assessment, IVF/ICSI, donor gamete treatments, and male fertility procedures such as surgical sperm retrieval.
In addition to her fertility work, Miss Robinson heads the Menopause and Reproductive Endocrine Service at BWH, managing complex menopausal conditions and providing implant therapies. She holds an Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care and sits on the British Menopause Society’s Medical Advisory Council.
An Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham, Miss Robinson contributes to research, teaching, and service development. She is actively involved with professional organisations including the British Fertility Society and ESHRE (European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology).
Outside her clinical and academic work, she enjoys cycling and reading with her book club, reflecting her balanced and approachable outlook both in and out of medicine.

My overall experience with lynne Robinson has been really reassuring , she has really listened to my medical history and taken the time to put a plan together … i feel a lot better knowing where I am and how to handle my menstrual cycles . A very kind and approachable consultant she has a lot of knowledge and empathy to help me … we have a clear plan and will meet again in six months for review thanks so much Also to Louise her secretary who has been very efficient and kind . She has bin on the other end of the phone if I needed things checking and only and e mail or phone call away . Very nice to have a secretary that not only cares but very approachable. Thanks Louise . I would definitely recommend for gyne issues to use this consultatant … 😊 you are passionate about what you do .

Miss Robinson was absolutely wonderful. She is clearly very knowledgeable and experienced in the field of menopause and I learnt a lot during our conversation. I was extremely impressed that she clearly must have cared about my situation because, after my visit, she took the time to discuss my case with a consultant in a different field and sought advice. She then relayed that advice to me promptly via email and also contacted my local hospital to relay the advice and request that I have further investigations/examinations. I felt very reassured by her advices and calm demeanor.
