Profile
Mr Guy Morris is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon providing private care at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital (Birmingham). He specialises in bone and soft tissue cancer, metastatic bone disease and complex hip and knee replacement surgery. He offers assessment and treatment for sarcoma, secondary bone cancer and advanced arthritis of the hip and knee, with a focus on safe surgery and clear explanations.
He looks after people with bone and soft tissue tumours, metastatic bone disease and hip and knee arthritis. He manages benign and malignant musculoskeletal tumours and supports people with pain, fractures or loss of function that restrict walking, work or sport. He also advises those concerned about a lump or swelling in a bone or limb.
His surgical work includes limb salvage surgery, primary and revision hip replacement, primary and revision knee replacement and reconstruction after tumour removal. He uses planning tools to support accurate surgery and reliable long term outcomes. Care is planned with oncology, radiology, anaesthesia, physiotherapy and specialist nursing teams so that treatment is coordinated and evidence based.
Mr Morris completed an undergraduate degree in sports rehabilitation and injury prevention before studying medicine at the University of Leicester. He undertook higher surgical training on the Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Programme and achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2017. He then completed a fellowship in oncology and arthroplasty in Sydney before taking up his consultant post.
He is active in teaching, research and academic development. He has published on orthopaedic oncology and joint replacement and is an honorary clinical lecturer at the University of Birmingham. He convened the first UK Sarcoma Allograft Conference and continues to lecture nationally and internationally on bone cancer and complex arthroplasty.
Patients describe Mr Morris as calm, supportive and clear. He takes time to understand each person’s symptoms and priorities before agreeing a personalised plan. By combining advanced surgical expertise with a thoughtful, patient centred approach, he aims to provide treatment that feels well explained, safe and tailored to individual goals.
