Mr Benjamin Tan is a highly skilled consultant surgeon offering private care at The Priory Hospital and The Harborne Hospital in Birmingham. He also practices in the NHS at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (University Hospitals Birmingham), where he joined the Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery unit in 2017.
Mr Tan completed his specialist surgical training in the East Midlands and achieved his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2014. He is fully trained in both laparoscopic (keyhole) and open surgical techniques, allowing him to deliver advanced care tailored to individual patient needs.
With a specialist interest in complex oesophago-gastric conditions, Mr Tan manages a wide range of cases, including acid reflux, oesophageal motility disorders, and gastric conditions. Mr Tan was very professional and patient whilst listening to my concerns and I felt I was taken very seriously. He took his time to discuss possible procedures as well as being honest about risks and complications.
