Mr Bala Reddy is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon providing private care at The Droitwich Spa Hospital (Droitwich). Mr Reddy completed his medical training in India before moving to the UK for higher surgical training in the Yorkshire Deanery. He went on to an Advanced Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery Fellowship in Portsmouth under Professor Amjad Parvaiz. He was appointed as a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust in 2012.
His academic interests include gut barrier function, nutrition in surgical patients and enhanced recovery after colorectal surgery. He was awarded an MD in Academic Surgery by the University of Hull in 2008 and has received major honours including the Moynihan Medal and the Syme Medal. These areas remain a focus of his academic work.
Mr Reddy is known for his calm and approachable manner. He takes time to explain investigations and treatment options in simple language and works with patients to create a personalised plan. By combining advanced laparoscopic skills with a kind, patient centred approach, he aims to deliver safe care and good long-term outcomes.

Couldn’t have asked for better care. From the first consultation until the final consultation he was very gentle knowledgeable and I felt very reassured. The procedure went well and Mr Reddy visited before the operation explaining what he was doing and then revisited after to explain what he had done. Would highly recommend Mr Reddy.
