Mr Serag completed his medical school training and obtained an MSc in Urology at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, after which he joined the UK Urology National Training Program in Wales, where he trained between Cardiff, Newport and Swansea. He obtained the MRCS, FRCS (Urology), FEBU and successfully completed his surgical training in 2018.
He travelled to Canada in 2019 where he completed a Uro-Oncology Fellowship at the University of British Columbia and Vancouver General Hospital. His training involved open complex cancer resections and robotic surgery. On his return to the UK, he joined the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Urology team as a Consultant Urological Surgeon, with a focus on urological cancers, particularly advanced renal, laparoscopic surgery, retroperitoneal cancer and robotic renal surgery.
He has wide experience in open and laparoscopic renal surgery, undertaking challenging cases referred from different centres in the West Midlands, in his tertiary practice at the QE hospital.
