Mr Runau obtained his medical degree from Guy's King's and St Thomas Medical School in London, completing all his higher surgical and colorectal training in Leicester Hospitals, with visiting fellowships to regional and European Units.
He is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon with a specialist interest in laparoscopic/keyhole hernia surgery, haemorrhoid treatment and endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy.
He has published extensively in his field of general and colorectal surgery, and obtained a PhD in Cancer Treatment from the University of Leicester in 2019.
