Dr Andrew King is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist offering private care at The Priory Hospital and HCA The Harborne Hospital in Birmingham. With extensive experience and advanced training, he provides expert care for a range of gastrointestinal conditions, specialising in gastroscopy for diagnosis and treatment.
After graduating from Imperial College School of Medicine, London, in 2001, Dr King completed his specialist training at hospitals across the West Midlands. His advanced training included time at the renowned Queen Elizabeth Liver Unit, enhancing his expertise in complex liver and gastrointestinal conditions. In 2015, Dr King was appointed as a consultant at University Hospitals Birmingham, where he currently practices at Birmingham Heartlands and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals.
Dr King is a recognised leader in medical education and training. He serves as the Training Programme Director for Gastroenterology in the West Midlands and the Training Lead at UHB. A GMC-accredited supervisor and experienced endoscopic trainer, Dr King is frequently invited to teach on regional endoscopy training courses, sharing his expertise with other healthcare professionals.
